Northern Arizona University vs University of Arizona?
Right now, I’m a freshman in community college to get my general studies out of the way. I’d like to be an english major, and transfer to either NAU or U of A for my junior year. Which college do you guys think is better, for my degree and in general? And WHY?
Hello,
The other poster had a great suggestion in that you should look at both campuses before making a decision. If you’re attending community college in Arizona you can see how all of your credits transfer to both schools at www.aztransfer.com. I’d also encourage you to look at the websites for both English departments to try and get a better feel for how each English department works. You should think about the differences in each campus. NAU provides a smaller community setting in a great outdoor region in Flagstaff, while UA is a much larger campus in more of a big city setting. Each campus has their own advantages and the most important thing is finding the right school for you. I would try using the admissions offices of both schools as a resource, as they can help you set up visits or answer any other questions you have.
Good luck,
Ryan

In the next year you should make sure to take a trip to both schools. Take a tour, meet with admissions and the english department head. Nothing beats seeing the school for yourself.
