i am currently a Jr. in high school and i want to start getting involved in programs that will introduce/give me opportunities to receive either scholarships or grants so that i can have some kind of way to earn more money for a college or university education. does anybody know of any programs inside of the phoenix, arizona area that they can recommend to me?
You should be directing this question to your schools guidance counselor. Don’t you guys have someone that you can talk to that will help you with this? I know my kids HS did!

Because i don’t know. And FYI i KNOW this is my last year of high school, but im not excited because i don’t know. It’s not like im just sitting there bopping around, i have thought about what i could possibly do, and i don’t know. I am really good at art stuff, but i dont know how im gonna make a career out of that stuff, because im really good at art stuff (like graphic design and photograpy and all) but i always feel that there’s someone better than me. I thought about becoming an ultrasound tech, but i don’t know what college courses im supposed to take to become that, and im also afraid i’d mess up on something. My sis and dad (both military veterans) suggest the air force but im not sure im cut out for that. People here have suggested community college and all, but guess what? in the messed up community that i live in, 1) i dont even want to stay here anymore, i hate everyone here and 2) the only community colleges in my area only look at people with technical diplomas and i wont have a tech diploma because im not taking tech classes in high school!!!!! My sis lives in arizona 2 hours from tucson, and a couple of hours from phoenix and san diego. She’s gonna fly me out to where she lives for spring break so i can see if i like it, she told me about the university of arizona campus and housing and all that stuff.
My main concerns are my grades. I have a 2.4 and im not sure how i can bring my grades up next semester, then there’s money for college. My dad is a navy vet. and there was something about them being able to financially support my college education, but other than that i’ve heard of financial aid and scholarships, but don’t you have to..IDK QUALIFY for that?
So since my college advisor person at school is a mean bitch and i hate talking to her, since she is very disrespecful to me, i refuse to go in there anymore, so i have no one to talk to about this. PLEASE help me!!

I’m a senior in high school, and my mom lives in Phoenix so I’m probably gonna go to Arizona State. Do any of you go there? If so, how’s the education, but more importantly, how are the parties??
I go to ASU and I love it. It’s a great place to get an education and the people here are great. If you are wondering about the parties, there are plenty to go to. ASU technically is a dry campus, however that does not stop students from having parties. If you are looking for huge crazy parties, then join a frat or sorority. If not there are plenty of house parties to go to and once you’re old enough, mill is great. I highly recommend ASU as an enjoyable college experience.
